I am a regular, Hello!

It has been some time since Mr SRK was hassled at Newark airport. My reaction over hours were: poor guy-poor guy but whats the big deal- poor guy but whats wrong with Mrs Soni-Poor guy or is he-haa well srk forget it plz-oh media get over it will ya. At the end of it the cynic in me got convinced that it was a promotion stunt for his new movie. ...Cynic in me ..not me!

But cynicism aside, cant blame the poor guy for being offended at not being recognized (Let us keep the religion issues aside for a while, which by the way is why i sympathised with him initially). A little recognition is always a welcome desire in our everyday insignificant, minuscule presence of being. By recognition i do not refer to recognition at work or at home, it is recognition by random people i am talking about. A little reality check will tell us how.

Ever visited the same salon(or any fancy store) twice and then on the third visit the girl at the counter still looks at you as if you are new in town! How do you feel..be honest! Don't you wish to scream i am a regular here Hello! A little recognition would help right after all you have been blowing your precious money for nothing.
Worse if you are one of those la-de-da s , present at every important event(ok totally random but remember the time all events were functions) in the city and the security guy at one such event stops you to ask who you were...remember that pain, i bet it could challenge a woman in labour.
And here is another one. ask your heart and be honest..don't you envy the guy who walks in the coffee shop and the counter guy has his coffee ready without any exchange of word! And then you wonder how long will it take you to reach there. Right, been there na!

It is not just a grown up thing though, it starts from childhood and over years of life we learn better. We learn not to let our desire of being recognised overpower our own self, we learn how it just takes a change in security guard or the counter girl to take it away. We see that it is not in our hands. We see how we have to work for it again and again with every changed counter girl or the security guard. Again and again.

  3. I agree with "perri" - nothing can come close to challenging a woman in labor - and its not just the physical pain either! LOL! However, the instinct might be comparable - you want to smack somebody in the face!! hehehe...
