So i came across this movie on netflix.Haven't heard before..didn't read the review..i never do, ask a friend ..yes but never read a review online. It is called 'ONCE'. Wonderful, excellent and breathtakingly brilliant musical from Ireland. Yes Irish cinema is different, it is simple and unlike hollywood. At times simple change in vocabulary is so appealing ..fine is grand, guy is lad. It was also a refreshing change to see two guys being stuffed in the back of the merc(or was it?) while trying to fit in a car, that aint happening in US for sure, reminds me of home.
It is a contemporary musical with absolutely no dances made in just $150,000. The lead characters of the movie are referred as guy and girl played by actors Glan Hansard(a street musician) and Marketa Irglova ( a migrant street hawker). The actors have written and performed the music themselves. Nothing i would write would do justice to the movie! It never does..
There are some lovely songs which the actors sit and compose together..i am trying to find them on YouTube but cannot get the exact scene..they all usually are in form of trailers. This one below is quite close to original scene. Have a look.

Each song is a gem ..this is one CD worth investing! Also if you decide to watch based on my recommendation..i need to know..yes seriously!
