We indians are fond of motherly touch, arent we, so much so that some indian men look for it in their wives and some weird indian women even dare to look for it in their husbands. Example: When sick they tend to complain you didnt ask me nth time in an hour if i was ok, where n>=2. These are some moments where they absolutely forget that the husbands essentially are men. Not creating a stereo type but barring few most men would be just happy that you are sick which directly implies you are quiet and which further implies they are free to make mess around. Other's messy kids are cute but no ones messy husband are, however good looking. Some times frivolous behaviour should be refrained as it comes with heavy price and labour is expensive.
This guy is a father to two lovely kids, is very polite and generally does most manly chores of house like taking the garbage out, picking up letter from mailbox. Otherwise too he is well dressed, neat and well spoken. Luck would have it, his wife catches flu after the children have already recuperated. The other wise national emergency scenario in any normal household doesn't seem to bother him. He is as upbeat as always. Reason, her extended family lives nearby. Alleluia! The wife has decided to send kids at her parent's, wise decision and was alone with husband. Days pass children are yet to be seen so i decide to inquire on her health.
The door opens to a sight which tickled me to death..there is this man standing near a huge pile of stuff: clothes toys and everything else possible trying to figure out what goes where. And there she is,smiling at me and quietly inviting me to sit with her on the sofa where she pointed out she had been sitting and reading a magazine which i believe she is hardly reading. Call me a sadist but i had some weird satisfaction. Maintaining a poker face i dare to dig in, meanwhile my attention is totally off her health and totally on to juicy details of how and why his situation. Sensing my burning desire he smiles and says you see with women they need an excuse to clean and if they find one to put their husbands to do ,nothing gives them more pleasure. And i say Amen! And btw we all should make such excuses, a policy!
She looks at me and says, 'he thought he would get away with dumping all the mess in laundry baskets including washed clothes'. So the laundry basket had clothes, washed unwashed, toys, stinking socks and bits and pieces of apple. And yes i believe there are unwashed clothes and then there are stinking socks, they do not fall in the category of unwashed clothes , they are above it, in a league of their own. Meanwhile comes the real deal, he interrupts and says, what really ticked her off was not this but that i cooked in the same pan for days without washing it, he then shrugs his shoulders and says who washes a pan when it is to be used again hours later seriously! And then goes on to add, some time i wish you women were blind. Something told me she didn't want to mention this but he gave it away anyway. You see how it is with us women, however we may fret but when it comes to family against the world we smartly hold back the crux of the problem. In this case i understand. What i also understand is how it is with men, when they don't care a shit for things, they dont.Period.There is no reputation involved.
So then she looks at me and says tell me who does that. I say, men in general. One huge laughter later he declares, 'Ya ya go ahead run a campaign against men, nothing will change we will still clean only to save Marriage'. You guessed it he is a man with good sense of humor too, all he lacks is hygiene!Chalega?
